Design guidelines exist along a spectrum, from high-level “aspirational” guidance to nuts-and-bolts “dimensional” guidance. Transit-oriented development (TOD) design guidelines, wherever they fall on the spectrum, can help provide more predictable and repeatable development outcomes along transit corridors.
